GC BW RW AngelWaves Kyng Arthur of Whitweb
Our beautiful baby *Artie* was another one of those great cats that was 1 in a million! He was in a litter of 5 Black & White boys, first litter of his parents GC Wavemaker Medianoche of AngelWaves & GC AngelWaves My Immortal,DM. At first he was actually what we picked as 2nd pick but all 5 very healthy babies came down with a horrible URI reaction after their first vaccines. We had to start some strong antibiotics with several times a day of nebulizing them in a special incubator we made. The one we thought was 1st pick developed a damaged eye from the nasty URI but otherwise all 5 recovered completely. But in hindsight *Artie* was by far the BEST one after all. He was a very quick *baby* grand in Championship and a couple of long term Judges pulled me aside and said he needed to be campaigned. I was willing but right after I granded him I had a health issue and my Drs. put the kibosh to such a serious campaign as it would require most weekends flying/driving long distances,etc. I happened to tell seasoned campaigners and CREX breeders David White & Russell Webb of Whiteweb cattery about him and they said to send some pictures. Well I sent the pictures and they called and said they loved him and to send him up to them and they would do their best to campaign. In less than 4 months *Artie* collected over 6,000 points which was a massive feat in any breed. *Artie* was such a SUPERSTAR and it showed! He was gentle, loving, even more petite than many of the females shown against him, vibrant deep black & brilliant white with a rippled tight wave that was simply outstanding.
He was such a funny yet calm cat. Once after another male CREX went berserk in the same ring and tore in to the judge, they had to stop judging till that cat was removed and the judge had some first aid. When judging resumed *Artie* was the first one to be judged. He came out of his cage, casually jumped on the judges shoulder like he always did and continued to *smooch* and kiss the judge. Not 1 upset bone in his body from the previous issue. *Artie* was always *copacetic* at each and every show with seeing other cats, judges, exhibitors & spectators alike. In fact he was also the #1 choice of a judge when she did her educational seminars on breeds at the big shows {ex: Madison Square Garden} as she could count on him for being calm & strut his stuff on the long table *Runway.* {See the picture below on the long table} *Artie* was in many internationals news articles, on the Big Times Square TV screen, at the ringing of the Wall Street Bell,etc. He was also used by Iams in advertising. {See Picture below}
Thank You to all in his *fan* club thru the years, to all the great exhibitors, spectators and Judges for loving him. Most of all THANK YOU to David White & Russell Webb for loving and cherishing him. We could not ask for more than that.
*Artie* was indeed a very special & beautiful representative of Cornish Rex breed and we will forever LOVE him....
